Terms of Service

Last updated: May 2026

By making a purchase on broadwides.com, you agree to these terms. Please read them before purchasing a typeface licence.

1. About us

Broadside is an independent type foundry, sole-operator, registered in England & Wales and based in Clerkenwell, London EC1. Contact: info@broadwides.com.

2. Products and pricing

All prices are displayed in Pounds Sterling (GBP) and are inclusive of UK VAT where applicable. We reserve the right to cancel any order if a pricing error has occurred, in which case a full refund is issued.

All products are digital font files (OpenType OTF, variable TTF, WOFF2) and decorative assets (SVG, PNG) delivered via download link. No physical goods are shipped.

3. Payment

Payment is processed securely through Stripe at the time of purchase. We accept all major debit and credit cards. No card details are stored on our servers.

4. Delivery

All products are delivered digitally. After a successful payment you receive an email containing a download link. Downloads are available immediately. See our Delivery page for full details.

5. Licence

When you license a Broadside typeface, you receive a perpetual, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence covering Desktop, Web, App, Broadcast and Brand use, as one bundle with no upsell. You may:

  • Use the typefaces in unlimited commercial work, print runs, broadcast and streaming productions, brand identities, packaging, and signage
  • Embed web fonts (WOFF2) on any number of domains owned by the licence-holder
  • Embed app fonts in mobile and desktop applications, with no per-user metering
  • Use the typefaces in client and work-for-hire engagements, including agency work

You may not:

  • Redistribute, resell, or sublicense the raw font files
  • Share download links or files with anyone outside the licence-holder's organisation
  • Convert the fonts into another format and redistribute (for example, as a web service or sample pack)
  • Claim authorship of the typefaces themselves

6. Refunds

Full details are in our Refund Policy. Summary: 30 days, no questions asked.

7. Consumer rights (UK)

Our goods come with statutory rights that cannot be excluded under the Consumer Rights Act 2015. You are entitled to digital content of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose, and as described. Where there is a major fault you are entitled to a refund or a replacement. Nothing in these terms restricts those statutory rights. The Competition and Markets Authority (gov.uk/cma) regulates UK consumer protection.

8. Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, our liability to you is limited to the purchase price of the licence(s) you ordered. We are not liable for indirect losses, including lost profits or consequential damages, except where such limitation is prohibited by the Consumer Rights Act 2015.

9. Intellectual property

All typefaces, ornaments, photography, copy, branding and code on this website belong to Broadside. The licence granted upon purchase is limited to Section 5.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England & Wales. Any disputes arising from these terms will be resolved in the courts of England & Wales. UK consumers retain the right to bring matters before the Citizens Advice consumer service or the Competition and Markets Authority.

11. Changes

We may update these terms from time to time. The current version will always be available here with a revised date.
